Friends star Matthew Perry's personal wealth and estate details have been brought to light following his tragic passing at the age of 54 in October 2023. According to an inventory and appraisal document filed by trustee Lisa Ferguson, it was revealed that Perry had $1,596,914.47 in his personal bank account at the time of his death, as reported by People.

Perry's net worth was estimated to be around $120 million during his lifetime, and the actor ensured that his assets were well-managed. He had placed the majority of his wealth into a $1 million trust, known as the Alvy Singer Living Trust, which he established in 2009. The trust was named after Woody Allen's iconic character in "Annie Hall". Co-executors of Perry's estate, Lisa Ferguson and Robin Ruzan, were entrusted with overseeing the distribution of his remaining assets, as noted by Page Six in March.

In his will, Perry named his father, John Perry, and mother, Suzanne Morrison, as beneficiaries alongside his half-sibling, Caitlin Morrison, and ex-girlfriend Rachel Dunn. It is worth mentioning that Perry never married nor had any children throughout his life.

The circumstances surrounding Perry's death have been a matter of public interest. He was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home on October 28. TMZ reported that Perry had been playing pickleball at the Riviera Country Club earlier that day and had not been in the hot tub for long before he was discovered. Initial reports suggested drowning, but a toxicology report later confirmed that Perry died from the acute effects of ketamine. Contributing factors listed included coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects. The official cause of death was ruled accidental. Authorities initiated an investigation earlier this year, with recent reports indicating that multiple individuals may face charges in connection to Perry's passing.

Perry had been candid about his struggles with addiction. In his memoir, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing", published in 2022, he shared his journey of attending 6,000 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, undergoing 15 rehab stints, and enduring 65 detox sessions. The actor claimed to have spent close to $9 million on his journey to recovery. Perry had previously faced a life-threatening gastrointestinal perforation in 2018 and revealed that he had a slim 2% chance of survival, having been placed on an ECMO machine to support his heart and lungs.

The beloved actor was laid to rest in Forest Lawn cemetery in Hollywood Hills in November. The funeral was attended by his five former Friends co-stars - Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc - along with Perry's parents, sisters, stepfather Keith Morrison, and other close friends and family members.

Matthew Perry's passing leaves behind a legacy of talent and an enduring impact on the entertainment industry. Fans and loved ones continue to mourn his loss, cherishing the memories he created through his iconic roles on television and film.
