Next year’s Masters Tournament attendees will need to dig a bit deeper into their pockets as ticket prices rise. Day tickets for the 2026 Masters at Augusta National are set to increase from $140 to $160, following a significant effort by Augusta National to curb the secondary ticket market during the previous April event.
Reports from the past tournament in Augusta, Georgia, indicate that hundreds of spectators faced inquiries about the legitimacy of their tickets, leading to many passes being invalidated. According to Augusta National’s policy, tickets can only be purchased directly from their official platform, explicitly prohibiting any resale. Their website firmly states, "Augusta National, Inc. is the only authorized source/seller of Masters Tickets. The resale of any Masters Ticket is strictly prohibited. Holders of Tickets acquired from third parties, by whatever means, may be excluded from attendance to the Tournament."
Prospective attendees can only acquire tickets through a lottery system. Applications for the lottery opened Sunday and will be accepted until June 20, with successful applicants set to be alerted by late July. The demand for tickets is extraordinarily high, with Augusta National capping daily attendance at about 40,000 fans despite receiving ticket requests numbering in the millions each year.
This ticket price increase follows a previous hike in 2023, when the cost of attendance went from $115 to $140. The adjustments reflect Augusta National’s ongoing efforts to maintain control over ticket distribution and ensure a fair opportunity for golf enthusiasts.
