### Man Found Dead in His Garage on Halloween Night in Harris County
A tragic event unfolded in north Harris County on Halloween night, where a man was discovered shot to death in his garage. According to the sheriff's office, the incident took place between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. at a residence on Hawks Nest Drive, near March Creek Drive, just west of Ella Boulevard.
Authorities were alerted to the scene following multiple reports of gunshots in the neighborhood. At the time, the area was bustling with Halloween activities, with many people out and about. Witnesses recounted seeing an individual dressed in a Michael Myers mask from the 'Halloween' slasher films approach the victim and commence firing.
Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide Sgt. Michael Ritchie mentioned that crime scene investigators were meticulously examining the area, reviewing video footage, and interviewing witnesses to gather crucial evidence. "Someone of that description was seen in the area during the shooting," Sgt. Ritchie stated.
The victim has been identified as the estranged husband of Carman Peterson, a woman who was fatally shot two months prior on August 16. Peterson, aged 37, was found dead in her apartment, having been shot while she slept. Her body was discovered by a family member who went to check on her after being unable to reach her.
Before their separation, the couple lived together with their three children in the home on Hawks Nest Drive. Peterson's family has expressed suspicions that her estranged husband may have had a role in her death, although authorities have yet to comment on these claims.
During the Halloween night shooting, two of the couple's children were present inside the home but remained unharmed. Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding either case to step forward and assist in their ongoing investigation.
