**Luka Doncic Sidelined for One Week Due to Calf Contusion**

In a recent announcement, the Dallas Mavericks revealed that their star player, Luka Doncic, will be out of action for at least a week as he recovers from a left calf contusion. The injury occurred during a workout session, sidelining the first-team All-NBA selection from last season temporarily.

Despite the setback, sources informed ESPN that there is no worry about Doncic's availability for the Mavericks' regular-season opener against the San Antonio Spurs on October 24. The Mavericks are currently holding their training camp in Las Vegas and are scheduled to kick off the preseason at home on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies.

This isn’t the first time Doncic has faced a calf-related issue. Last preseason, the Slovenian star dealt with a calf strain sustained during the Mavericks' trip to Abu Dhabi and Madrid. Fortunately, Doncic recovered in time to participate in the regular-season opener then, and the team remains optimistic about his return this time around as well.
