In a thrilling preseason matchup, the Detroit Lions showcased their resilience as they staged a fourth-quarter comeback to secure a 24-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game saw a series of dramatic moments, with both teams battling it out until the final whistle.

The action kicked off with the Lions' defense stepping up in the red zone, limiting the damage to just three points after a third-down stop. The Steelers took an early 17-14 lead, capitalizing on a turnover as former Lions cornerback Cam Sutton intercepted a pass that deflected off the fingertips of Isaiah Williams.

However, Detroit's defense quickly rebounded, forcing a punt and swiftly shifting the momentum in their favor as the game entered the fourth quarter. Quarterback Hooker orchestrated an impressive drive, connecting with Maurice Alexander for a crucial 29-yard gain. A horse collar tackle added an additional 15 yards for the Lions, setting the stage for Jermar Jefferson to punch it into the endzone from seven yards out, giving the Lions a 21-17 lead with 12:39 remaining.

Although the Steelers managed a big return on the ensuing kickoff, the Lions' defense responded with a quick three-and-out. Mitchell Agude played a pivotal role with a run stuff on third-and-1, and a false start penalty by Pittsburgh on a fourth-down attempt handed the ball back to Detroit.

Surprisingly, fourth-string quarterback Jake Fromm took the field with just over 10 minutes left, despite coach Dan Campbell suggesting otherwise. Fromm showcased his talent right from the start, completing back-to-back passes to Tom Kennedy and Alexander for significant gains. On a crucial third-and-11, Fromm connected with Jalon Calhoun for a 21-yard gain and later found Calhoun again for 16 yards.

As the Lions approached the endzone, Fromm narrowly missed a touchdown connection with Funk on a wheel route. Unable to convert on fourth-and-2, the Lions sent out Jake Bates for a confident 46-yard field goal, extending their lead to 24-17 with 5:22 left on the clock.

Despite the Steelers working their way to midfield, a series of penalties pushed them into a desperate fourth-and-13 situation. Ultimately, they opted to punt, leaving just 2:28 on the clock for the Lions to close out the game.

Fromm remained composed, completing two crucial passes for first downs, effectively sealing the Lions' victory. The rising quarterback finished the game with an impressive statline, going 6-of-8 for 89 yards.

The Lions' comeback win highlighted their resilience and determination. While it may only be preseason, this victory will undoubtedly boost their confidence as they continue their preparation for the upcoming regular season.
