Authorities have issued a mandatory evacuation order in San Bernardino County as the Line Fire continues to blaze, scorching over 3,800 acres of land. With the wildfire remaining 0% contained, approximately 500 firefighters are tirelessly battling the flames, according to an update from the San Bernardino National Forest at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The wildfire, which first ignited along Baseline Road at around 6 p.m. on Thursday, quickly spread, consuming hundreds of acres before intensifying overnight on Friday, surpassing the 3,000-acre mark. By Saturday morning, the fire had ravaged nearly 4,000 acres near Highland, causing concerns among local residents.

Brian Gano, a resident of Highland, shared his experience, stating, "The flames were right up on us because the wind shifted." This sudden change in wind direction brought the fire dangerously close to their homes, prompting fears for the safety of nearby residents.

Despite evacuation warnings being in place for the past two days, authorities made the decision to issue a mandatory evacuation order on Saturday for a specific area. The affected zone stretches from Calle Del Rio to Highway 38, including Greenspot Road North. Residents in this area have been instructed to leave immediately to guarantee their safety.

Later in the day, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's office expanded the evacuation order to include all undeveloped land east of Highway 330 to Summertrail Place and north of Highland Avenue. This additional measure aims to ensure that residents and properties are kept out of harm's way.

To facilitate firefighting operations, Baseline Road has been temporarily closed from Fairwood to Brockwood. Authorities advise residents to follow detour instructions when entering or leaving the area. In addition, the general public is advised that Aurantia Park in Highland is currently closed until further notice.

With no containment reported yet, the Line Fire remains a significant threat to the San Bernardino County community. Firefighters continue to work tirelessly to control the inferno and protect lives and property.

As the situation unfolds, residents are urged to stay vigilant, heed evacuation orders, and monitor updates from local authorities. The safety of the community remains a top priority as efforts to bring this destructive wildfire under control intensify.
