### Sixers Face Timberwolves in Preseason Game with Limited Viewing Options

The Philadelphia 76ers are set to clash with the Minnesota Timberwolves in a preseason game in Iowa on Friday night, but catching the action might prove challenging for fans. Paul George will make his preseason debut for the 76ers, but viewing his performance live could be tricky. NBC Sports Philadelphia is not covering road preseason games, and Bally Sports North, Timberwolves’ broadcast partner, hasn't deployed a crew to Iowa either. The only feasible way to watch might be through League Pass, which will provide an in-arena feed, presenting a less-than-ideal situation for enthusiastic supporters.

It's unfortunate the debut of George couldn't be broadcast in the Delaware Valley. However, the game will go on, whether viewers can watch it or not. Notably, Joel Embiid will not be participating, as reported by The Inquirer's Keith Pompey. According to the team's head coach, Embiid is undergoing a scheduled assessment on his surgically repaired knee. This is part of the team's plan to gradually ease him back into action.

Other players should be available for the 76ers. Tyrese Maxey had limited playtime against the New Zealand Breakers on Monday, showcasing dominance against the non-NBA team. With Embiid out, Andre Drummond is expected to see much more playtime. Behind Drummond, the coach plans to test Guerschon Yabusele as a small-ball center, a strategy that will be put to the test against Minnesota's bigger and more athletic players.

The Timberwolves likely won't have their superstar guard Anthony Edwards or newcomer Julius Randle on Friday night. Edwards is expected to take the night off, while Randle is still recovering from right shoulder surgery following a blockbuster trade that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks. Nonetheless, Rudy Gobert should provide a significant challenge for Drummond and Yabusele.

Despite the limited viewing options, the game promises to be an intriguing matchup, with several key players sitting out and new strategies being tested. Fans will be eager to see how the reshuffled rosters perform as the preseason continues.
