In a video announcement posted on X, renowned French soccer star Kylian Mbappé has officially revealed that he will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the end of the Ligue 1 season in 2024. Ending months of speculation, Mbappé stated that he will not be extending his contract beyond this season.

The rumors surrounding Mbappé's future started circulating last summer, with reports suggesting that he would be joining Real Madrid. Although the striker has not yet signed an official contract with the Spanish club, BBC Sport's Guillem Balague confirmed in February that an agreement had been reached. The proposed deal is said to span over five years, with an annual salary of €15 million ($16 million) and a staggering signing bonus of €150 million ($161 million).

Mbappé, who is currently 25 years old, has enjoyed a successful career at PSG spanning seven seasons after making the move from AS Monaco during the 2017-2018 season. His latest season has been particularly impressive, with the talented forward scoring 26 goals in 28 Ligue 1 matches. This marks his fourth consecutive season with a goal tally between 26 and 29 in league play.

Furthermore, Mbappé has notched an impressive total of 43 goals across all competitions in 46 matches this season, which sets a new personal record. This achievement also signifies his third 40-goal season within the past four years.

As Mbappé confirms his exit from PSG, supporters will have the opportunity to bid farewell to their beloved star during his final home match against Toulouse on Sunday. The announcement leaves a void in the PSG squad and marks the beginning of a new chapter in Mbappé's illustrious career as he prepares to embark on a new adventure, potentially donning the colors of the prestigious Real Madrid in the near future.
