In a highly-anticipated sighting, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, was seen in public for the first time in over two months since her abdominal surgery. The 42-year-old royal was photographed sitting in the passenger seat of a black Audi SUV while her mother, Carole Middleton, drove near Windsor Castle on Monday.

Keeping a low profile, Kate wore black sunglasses and let her hair down for the outing. Her mother appeared casual, staring straight ahead. It was unclear where they were going, but it seemed to be just a mother-daughter outing.

The last time Kate was seen in public was on December 25, 2023, when she, Prince William, and their three children attended a Christmas morning event at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Norfolk, England, wearing coordinated shades of blue.

Soon after, Kensington Palace announced that Kate had undergone a planned abdominal surgery on January 16, 2024. The statement, shared on Instagram on January 17, expressed that the surgery had been successful, and Kate was expected to remain in the hospital for ten to fourteen days before continuing her recovery at home. It was also mentioned that she would unlikely return to public duties until after Easter, which falls on March 31 this year.

Although the topic of Kate's whereabouts became a trending conversation recently when Prince William skipped a memorial service for the late King Constantine II of Greece due to undisclosed personal reasons, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace assured that Kate was "doing well." However, this did little to stop the online chatter.

Kate's representative later exclusively told Page Six that the Duchess was still "doing well" and would continue her recovery. The rep emphasized that Kensington Palace had previously set guidelines regarding updates on Kate's recovery, stating that only significant updates would be provided.

Amidst Kate's health ordeal, the Palace also announced that King Charles III was undergoing a routine procedure on his prostate. Later, Buckingham Palace revealed that the King had been diagnosed with cancer, but specific details about the stage and type were not disclosed. In a statement, King Charles expressed his gratitude for the support and well-wishes he had received.

As Kate Middleton reemerges in public following her surgery, royal watchers eagerly await her return to public duties. Her presence has always been a source of inspiration and admiration, and her continued recovery is paramount as she prepares for her future engagements.
