In a confirmation from Kensington Palace, it has been announced that Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, will be attending the full Wimbledon men's final match on Sunday. The highly anticipated face-off between Novak Djokovic and reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz will mark Kate's second public appearance of 2024, following her ongoing cancer treatment that began with an abdominal surgery in January.

Due to her health condition, Kate will not be present in the Royal Box for the women's championship match on Saturday, which will feature Barbora Krejčíková and Jasmine Paolini. However, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, of which Kate has been the patron since 2016, has arranged for Wimbledon Chair Debbie Jevans to present the women's championship award on Kate's behalf.

It has been a tradition for Kate to attend Wimbledon most years since her marriage to Prince William in 2011, often presenting the winner's trophy. Last year, she captivated audiences when she sat at Centre Court with Prince William, along with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, with the latter making her Wimbledon debut.

While tournament officials had hoped for Kate to present the trophies this year, they understand that her health takes precedence. Speaking to Telegraph Sport last month, Jevans expressed this sentiment, stating that they were "hopeful" but recognized that Kate's well-being was the "priority."

On the same day, Prince William will be attending the Euro 2024 final in Berlin to support England as they face off against Spain. Accompanying him will be Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who recently assumed office last week. As president of the Football Association, this event holds great significance for Prince William.

Despite her gradual return to select official engagements, palace aides have repeatedly emphasized that Kate Middleton has not yet set an official return to work date and has not formally resumed public life following her health crisis. As she continues her cancer treatment, her presence at the Wimbledon men's final signifies her commitment to fulfilling her duties as the Princess of Wales, even amid personal challenges.

The support and understanding extended towards Kate Middleton's prioritization of her health serve as a reminder of the resilience and strength exhibited by the royal family during challenging times.
