In a recent interview on MSNBC's The Weekend, Vice-President Kamala Harris condemned former President Donald Trump's comments regarding Russia's potential attack on NATO allies. Harris expressed strong disapproval of Trump's apparent alignment with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that the American people would not support a leader who bows down to a dictator.

Harris, who was in Germany for the Munich Security Conference, also addressed the stalling of the Biden administration's $95bn foreign military aid package by House Republicans. The aid package, which includes support for Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression, is awaiting approval in the Republican-controlled House.

Despite passing the Senate with a 66-33 vote, the aid package faces opposition in the House as Speaker Mike Johnson has not allowed a vote while the chamber is in recess. Harris remains optimistic that bipartisan support in both chambers will prevail, emphasizing the importance of standing with allies in times of need.

Additionally, Harris shared concerns about President Biden's warning to Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the military actions in Rafah. While defending Israel's right to self-defense, Harris emphasized the importance of safeguarding innocent Palestinian civilians in the ongoing conflict.

Amid growing tensions, Harris avoided confirming whether the US would restrict weapons supplies to Israel if civilian safety measures are not implemented in Rafah. She expressed worries for the 1.5 million displaced individuals in the area and the need for concrete steps to protect innocent lives in the region.

As discussions continue on both international fronts, Harris remains steadfast in pushing for bipartisan action and support for critical aid packages while emphasizing diplomacy and the protection of civilians in conflict zones.
