Judge Arthur Engoron made his decision known in an email sent on Thursday to both Trump's lawyers and the New York attorney general. The judgment entering will prompt a 30-day window for Trump to lodge an appeal, during which he must furnish cash or post bond covering the $355 million plus around $100 million in interest. Judge Engoron dismissed Trump's request for an extension, citing a lack of justification for a stay. The judge intends to approve the attorney general's proposed judgment, which aligns with the ruling against Trump and his two adult sons, finding them guilty of fraud. The judgment includes a ban on Trump serving as an officer of a New York business for three years, with a two-year prohibition for Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. Each brother has been ordered to pay $4 million. An independent monitor, operating since 2022, will persist in their role for at least three more years and is tasked with suggesting a candidate to serve as an independent compliance director for the Trump Organization.
