**Jon Jones Relishes Dana White's Rebuff of Petition Demanding Title Forfeiture**

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has expressed his satisfaction with Dana White's recent dismissal of a fan-driven petition advocating for Jones to be stripped of his title. The petition gained significant traction, amassing over 188,000 signatures in a show of frustration within the MMA community over Jones' decision to forego a unification bout with interim titleholder Tom Aspinall.

Jones, who has held the heavyweight belt since late 2024 after defending it against now-retired Stipe Miocic, has repeatedly rebuffed the idea of facing Aspinall. Aspinall has held the interim title since November 2023 and has successfully defended it, creating a considerable push for a definitive unification fight. The growing tension led fans to create and circulate the petition, which became a viral sensation.

During the UFC 316 post-fight press conference, White downplayed the significance of the petition. "Every human on Earth was DM'ing it (the petition) to me," he remarked. Referring to the UFC's global fanbase, White added, "Like 400 million and 130,000 people want to see him stripped. It's kind of f— silly."

Jones, who has been vocal on social media since his knockout win over Miocic, took to X to share his amusement at White's comments. Engaging frequently with critics and fans alike, Jones didn't miss the opportunity to further mock the petition’s impact by comparing its signatories to the world's entire population, thereby emphasizing its relative insignificance.

The stalemate between Jones and Aspinall has left many MMA enthusiasts dissatisfied, but for the time being, it appears that Jones is securely holding on to his title, with White’s support bolstering his position.
