In an exciting development for the Minnesota Timberwolves, free agent forward Joe Ingles has agreed to a one-year contract worth $3.3 million, sources confirmed on Wednesday. The signing reunites Ingles with his former teammates, Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley, as they join forces once again to make a strong push in the Western Conference.

Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations, Tim Connelly, wasted no time in pursuing Ingles after Kyle Anderson departed in free agency. Recognizing the need for Ingles' exceptional 3-point shooting and playmaking abilities, Connelly engaged with Ingles' agent, Mark Bartelstein, to secure the deal.

At 36 years old, Ingles brings a wealth of experience to the Timberwolves' roster. Having previously played alongside Gobert and Conley in Utah, the trio was instrumental in the Jazz's consistent playoff runs. Ingles' career 41% shooting rate from beyond the arc, including an impressive 43.5% with the Orlando Magic last season, makes him one of the top 3-point shooters in the league. ESPN Stats & Information reveals that Ingles is currently ranked fourth among players with 2,500-plus attempts since his NBA debut in the 2014-15 season, trailing only JJ Redick, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson.

Ingles' NBA journey has spanned ten seasons since his arrival from Australia. A proud representative of his home country, Ingles is set to play for Australia in the 2024 Summer Olympics. Although he spent the majority of his career with the Jazz, a torn ACL in 2022 led him to play for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Orlando Magic over the past two seasons. Now, he finds himself poised to make his third consecutive playoff appearance, this time with the Timberwolves.

The addition of Ingles to the Timberwolves' lineup is undoubtedly a significant boost for the team's ambitions. With his sharpshooting and ability to create plays, Ingles will provide valuable support to Gobert and Conley, further strengthening their title aspirations. Expectations are high as the newly reunited trio seeks to leave their mark in the Western Conference and guide the Timberwolves to a successful season.
