**Jets Look to Turn Season Around with Key Acquisitions**
The New York Jets' season might be taking a positive turn. After parting ways with coach Robert Saleh two weeks ago and losing to the Buffalo Bills at home, the team swiftly signed wide receiver Davante Adams, reuniting him with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Now, in another significant move, they have come to terms with pass rusher Haason Reddick on an adjusted contract.
According to ESPN and his agent Drew Rosenhaus, the Jets and Reddick did not finalize a long-term deal but did reach an agreement that will see Reddick report to the team on Monday. This development comes after months of public disputes and negotiations. As a result, Reddick will miss the upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Reddick was initially acquired by the Jets in March, but after failing to secure a new contract, he requested a trade before even playing a game for them. His holdout was tumultuous, leading to his former agency dropping him and a lawsuit from a former business partner over a $1.6 million dispute. His absence has cost him nearly $10 million in missed camps, practices, and games.
Jets owner Woody Johnson had a direct appeal to Reddick, encouraging him to drive down Interstate 95 to join the team, promising a warm reception. It seems this plea worked as Reddick is set to join the squad. The 30-year-old is coming off his second consecutive Pro Bowl season with the Eagles, where he recorded 11 sacks, 38 tackles (13 for loss), and 23 quarterback hits. His consistent double-digit sack performance over the past four seasons makes him a valuable addition to the Jets' defense, which has been performing well early in the new season.
