**Jennifer Lopez Shines at AMAs, Announces Las Vegas Residency and Files for Divorce**

Jennifer Lopez set the stage on fire as she opened the American Music Awards on Monday night with an electrifying six-minute dance set that featured 23 of the year's biggest hits. The multifaceted entertainer also dazzled the audience with not one, but eight stunning outfit changes as she took on hosting duties for the evening.

Lopez, who had previously canceled her world tour last summer, surprised fans with an exciting announcement: she is embarking on a Las Vegas residency. "SURPRISE JLOVERS! We're back! I'm doing a residency in Las Vegas!," she wrote on social media. Her "Up All Night" residency will see her perform a dozen shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting on December 30, with dates continuing through March 28. Tickets will be available for purchase starting June 6.

The "On the Floor" singer's announcement comes on the heels of her filing for divorce from Ben Affleck in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The couple, who had sparked separation rumors last summer, are officially parting ways. Lopez had initially backed out of her summer 2024 tour citing the need to spend time with her children, family, and close friends, amid speculation about her strained relationship with Affleck.

The American Music Awards ceremony, held at the Fontainebleau on the Las Vegas Strip, also saw several other stars being honored. Janet Jackson made a comeback after seven years, performing live and receiving the Icon Award for her extraordinary influence on pop music worldwide. Past recipients of this prestigious award include Lionel Richie and Rihanna.

Other notable winners of the night included Rod Stewart, who took home the lifetime achievement award for 2025, and Gracie Abrams, who was named new artist of the year. Billie Eilish dominated the awards by winning in seven categories, including song of the year, album of the year, female pop star, and favorite touring artist.

Additionally, awards in country music went to Post Malone, Dan & Shay, and Beyoncé. In the hip-hop category, Kendrick Lamar’s "Not Like Us" was named favorite hip-hop song, while Eminem’s "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)" won favorite hip-hop album. Doechii's "Anxiety" took the top social song, and Megan Thee Stallion was recognized as the favorite female hip-hop artist. SZA and the Weeknd were honored as the top female and male R&B singers, respectively.
