### Jennifer Lawrence Advised Against Involvement in 'Bread and Roses' Documentary

In a bold move, Jennifer Lawrence decided to support and produce the documentary 'Bread and Roses,' despite warnings from her close circle about potential dangers. The film, a collaborative effort with activist Malala Yousafzai, aims to shed light on the struggles faced by women in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime.

Lawrence, who is currently expecting her second child with husband Cooke Maroney, shared on CBS Morning the concerns her friends and family had regarding her involvement. When host Gayle King questioned her about their reaction, Lawrence admitted, "My family and friends definitely encouraged me not to. It's dangerous - of course it is. But there's 20 million women whose lives are in danger."

The actress also discussed the criticism she often faces due to her educational background. In a previous interview with 60 Minutes, she had revealed dropping out of middle school, explaining that her lack of formal education frequently subjects her to skepticism. "I think the common [criticism], especially with this subject, is, 'Why is somebody without an education trying to talk about 'politics'?" she said.

Lawrence stressed that the documentary's focus is beyond politics and is fundamentally about human lives. She expressed, "It's political in the sense that you should push your congresspeople and you should get involved to make our government more accountable, then the UN can recognize gender apartheid." Additionally, she emphasized her expertise in storytelling through filmmaking, arguing that this qualifies her to highlight such critical issues.

Despite the risks and the scrutiny she faces, Jennifer Lawrence remains committed to using her platform to advocate for those whose voices are often silenced.
