**Jay Leno Recovers Following Tumble Down Hill**
Jay Leno is on the mend after a weekend mishap left him with an eye patch and a significant facial bruise. The former Tonight Show host took a tumble down a large hill while attempting to walk from his hotel to a nearby restaurant.
Speaking to TMZ, Leno recounted the incident, explaining that he was staying at a hotel perched atop a hill. Without a car, he decided to forego the mile-and-a-half walk around the hill and instead attempted to descend the steep 60 or 70-foot incline directly. Unfortunately, the effort resulted in him falling and sustaining injuries. "I fell down. Boom, boom, boom. I rolled down the hill, hit my head on a rock, knocked me in the eye," Leno described, noting the extensive bruise covering half his face.
Despite the painful fall, the 74-year-old comedian didn't let it disrupt his schedule. He went on to perform his show later that day at the Yaamava' Resort & Casino in Highland, California, and only sought medical attention once he returned to Los Angeles. Reflecting on the incident, Leno remarked, "It's not that big of a deal. It's alright, it's alright.... The great thing about this age [is] you don't learn by your mistakes, you just keep doing the same stupid thing."
This isn't the first time Leno has experienced a serious accident. In November 2022, he suffered third-degree burns in a garage fire while working on his vintage cars, which required several days of treatment at the Grossman Burn Center. Additionally, he endured another injury in a motorcycling accident the following year, which left him with a broken collarbone, two broken ribs, and two cracked kneecaps.
The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Leno's representative for further comments on his recent fall.
