Israel Allegedly Fails to Comply with U.N. Order to Provide Urgent Aid to Gaza

Human Rights Watch has accused Israel of failing to adhere to a United Nations' top court order to provide much-needed aid to the people in the Gaza Strip. The court ordered Israel to prevent death, destruction, and acts of genocide in the region. Despite denying the charges and citing self-defense, Israel faces global concern as it plans to expand its ground operation in Rafah, Gaza's southern town. Various organizations have noted a significant drop in aid trucks entering Gaza since the court's ruling on January 26. Reports indicate that only 245 trucks of aid entered Gaza on Sunday, less than half of the pre-war daily amount. Further accusations suggest that Israel is hindering aid deliveries to northern Gaza, causing humanitarian organizations to suspend their operations in the affected area. In response, Israel claims that the organizations themselves are at fault, and tensions rise as desperate Palestinians are reported to strip delivery trucks of supplies. Israel has submitted a report to the U.N. regarding its compliance with the court's orders, but the contents remain undisclosed.
