The U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, has reacted strongly to the recent detention of a U.S.-Russian ballerina in Russia and the Biden administration's decision to pause LNG permitting. Reports indicate that since January, Iran has delivered approximately 400 Fateh-110 ballistic missiles to Russia, significantly enhancing Russia's military capabilities in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The missiles, capable of striking targets up to 435 miles away, were part of a deal reached between Russian and Iranian officials in December. At least four shipments have been received by Russia so far, with more expected in the coming weeks.

In a notable military development, Russia has scored a victory by capturing the Ukrainian city of Avdiivka, marking the first significant gain in months. Ukrainian defenders, facing dwindling resources and personnel, were forced to retreat, highlighting the escalating conflict in the region.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is under pressure to outline a plan for Ukraine as the second anniversary of Russia's invasion approaches on Feb. 24. While populist Republican lawmakers are against U.S. involvement in the conflict, mainstream Republicans and Democrats emphasize the importance of supporting Ukraine to prevent further aggression from Russian President Vladimir Putin. The situation remains tense, with Ukrainian forces running out of ammunition and fleeing cities, while opposition to aiding Russia in the conflict intensifies.
