Authorities in SOUTHWICK, Mass. have initiated an investigation following reports that white students at the Southwick Regional School in Western Mass engaged in racially charged bullying activities, including setting up an online slave auction where they "bid" on Black classmates. The Hampden District Attorney's Office and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit are involved in looking into the disturbing claims, as confirmed by the Greater Springfield branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The NAACP expressed concern over the use of racial slurs and the alleged 'slave auction,' labeling them as reprehensible acts of hate that have no place in a learning environment or society. In response to the allegations, a spokesperson for the DA's office emphasized that hate-based harassment and violence will not be tolerated and any criminal violations will be prosecuted rigorously.
