**Goedert and Slay Ruled Out for Week 9 Clash with Jaguars**
The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday without two key players, tight end Dallas Goedert and cornerback Darius Slay. Both players have been sidelined due to injuries, with Goedert nursing a hamstring issue and Slay dealing with a groin problem. Their absence was confirmed after each missed a full week of practice.
With only Goedert and Slay ruled out for the game, all other members of the Eagles' 53-man roster are set to play. The team has prepared to compensate for these losses by turning to veteran Isaiah Rodgers to fill the void left by Slay. Rodgers notably made an impact in the previous game against the Bengals by tipping a ball that led to an interception by C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
To address Goedert's continued absence, the Eagles will rely on backup tight ends Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll, as they have done in the past two games. This marks Goedert's third consecutive missed game due to his injury.
In more positive news for Eagles fans, wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who missed practice on Friday for personal reasons, will be available for Sunday's game. Additionally, Landon Dickerson (knee), Jalen Carter (shoulder), and Mekhi Becton (concussion) participated fully in Friday's practice and are set to play against the Jaguars.
