**Severe Weather Expected to Hit Austin on Sunday Evening**

AUSTIN, Texas – Active weather is on the horizon once again for Central Texas, with meteorologists predicting strong to severe thunderstorms on Sunday evening. Following a calm Saturday, the KVUE viewing area should brace for potentially hazardous weather between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The primary threat from these storms will be large hail, which could damage vehicles and property. Damaging winds and heavy downpours are also expected, increasing the risk of power outages due to downed power lines and trees. Although only 20% of the area is expected to experience storm conditions, any storm that develops could be particularly severe.

Unlike the squall line that moved through the region on Friday morning, Sunday's weather is expected to feature discrete storm cells along an outflow boundary. In addition to the risk of large hail, residents should remain vigilant for localized street flooding from intense rainfall, particularly in low-lying areas. While the chance of isolated tornadoes is minimal, it cannot be entirely ruled out.

After Sunday's storm system, the next significant chances for rain are expected on Wednesday and Thursday. The KVUE Weather Impact Team is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.

Prepare accordingly and stay informed as this weather event unfolds.
