Music industry giant Quincy Jones has died at the age of 91. According to TMZ, Jones succumbed to pancreatic cancer, as confirmed by a death certificate issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. He passed away on November 3 at his residence in Los Angeles, surrounded by his family.
Quincy Jones' publicist, Arnold Robinson, confirmed the sad news on November 4. In a heartfelt statement, Robinson shared, "Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him."
Jones, a monumental figure in the music world, collaborated with legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Ella Fitzgerald. He was laid to rest in a private funeral service on November 10. Attending the "intimate ceremony" were all seven of his children—Jolie, 71; Rachel, 61; Martina, 58; Quincy III, 55; Kidada, 50; Rashida, 48; and Kenya, 31—along with his brother and two sisters, according to the family’s statement shared with The Associated Press.
The family expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming support and tributes from friends and fans around the world. They also mentioned plans for a public memorial to be held at a later date.
