RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes’ general manager, Eric Tulsky, has confirmed that their goaltender, Frederik Andersen, will undergo knee surgery this Friday, sidelining him for an estimated 8-12 weeks.
Andersen, 35, has shown impressive performance this season with a 3-1-0 record in four games, boasting a remarkable 1.48 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage. Last season, he played 16 games for the Hurricanes, achieving a 13-2-0 record with a 1.84 goals-against average and .932 save percentage.
Originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the third round, 87th overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft, Andersen has amassed extensive experience across 499 NHL games.
