More than 1,300 flights in the United States were canceled on Monday as Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Texas. Flight tracking website FlightAware reported that an additional 700 flights were delayed due to the impact of the storm. The majority of affected flights were either departing from or arriving at Texas airports, including George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport in Houston.

According to FlightAware's data, United Airlines had the highest number of canceled flights, with 405 cancellations, followed by Southwest Airlines with 268. Hurricane Beryl, classified as a Category 1 storm with winds of 80 mph, brought heavy rainfall to the region, with forecasters predicting up to 12 inches of rain.

In response to the severe weather conditions, United Airlines announced the suspension of most flights from Houston on Monday. The airline, however, offered passengers the option to reschedule their trips without incurring any change fees or fare differences. American Airlines also suspended operations at Houston airports on Monday until approximately 3 p.m. Eastern Time. The airline stated that it would assess the situation tomorrow to determine whether it is safe to resume operations in the afternoon/evening. American Airlines allowed customers to rebook their tickets without incurring any change fees and stated that it did not plan to alter its flight schedules in other Texas cities such as Austin, Brownsville, Harlingen, or McAllen.

Meanwhile, Southwest Airlines stated that it had canceled flights at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, William P. Hobby Airport, and Corpus Christi International Airport until noon on Monday. The airline also warned customers to expect schedule changes throughout Monday afternoon and advised them to check their flight status for any potential disruptions.

As Hurricane Beryl continues to impact Texas, travelers are advised to stay informed about their flight itineraries and make any necessary arrangements. The storm's heavy rainfall poses potential risks of flooding and weather-related disruptions. Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines or consult flight tracking websites for the latest updates on flight schedules and possible changes.

Other than the flights cancellations and delays, it is important for residents in the affected areas to stay vigilant and follow the guidelines provided by local authorities regarding the storm's impact and potential risks.
