Two Rivers Police have officially confirmed that the human remains recently discovered on private property belong to missing 3-year-old boy Elijah Vue. The announcement was made on Friday, putting an end to months of uncertainty surrounding the disappearance of the young child.

Elijah was reported missing on February 20 by his mother's boyfriend, Jesse Vang, who was responsible for caring for him at the time. Vang told authorities that he had taken a nap and, upon awakening, discovered that Elijah had vanished from his apartment on Mishicot Rd. The heartbreaking revelation sparked an extensive search operation and an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance.

In a significant development, Two Rivers police disclosed that Elijah's blanket was found several miles away on Goodwin Rd., located east of County Rd. B. This discovery, combined with other evidence, guided investigators to the private property where the human remains were eventually found. The property had been searched multiple times throughout the past seven months before being stumbled upon by a hunter who was preparing the land for the upcoming hunting season.

While the identification of the remains marks an important breakthrough, no one has yet been charged in connection with Elijah's disappearance. Both Jesse Vang and Elijah's mother, Katrina Baur, who hails from Wisconsin Dells, remain in custody on child neglect charges. Authorities continue to delve into the case, determined to uncover the truth surrounding the tragic fate of young Elijah Vue.

As a result of the confirmation regarding the remains, the Amber Alert that had been in effect for Elijah was formally canceled on Friday. This decision comes as a somber reminder of a young life lost and the urgent need for justice.

The community of Two Rivers and beyond mourns the loss of Elijah Vue and stands in solidarity with his family during this painful time. May the investigation bring about the answers and closure they so desperately seek in order to start the healing process.

The Two Rivers Police Department has requested anyone with information regarding this case to come forward and assist with their ongoing investigation.
