In response to the crashing and freezing issues that plagued the recent Helldivers 2 patch, developers have pinpointed the cause and advised players to refrain from using electricity-based weapons such as the Arc Shotgun. The patch, released on March 20, aimed to improve game balance and fix bugs, including crashing-related errors.

While the Helldivers 2 community initially welcomed the update, it soon became clear that the patch had introduced its own set of problems. Many players reported unexpected difficulty spikes and widespread crashing errors, attributing these issues to the newly implemented changes.

Addressing the ongoing concerns, the Helldivers team acknowledged the crashing hiccups in a recent statement on Discord. They confirmed that they had identified the cause of the freezes experienced by many players and assured the community that an update to address the issue would be deployed next week.

In the meantime, Arrowhead Studio, the developer of Helldivers 2, has advised players to avoid using electricity-based weapons such as the Arc Thrower, Arc Shotgun, and Tesla Tower. These weapons are believed to be linked to the crashing and freezing issues experienced by players.

Some players questioned why the developer did not simply disable the problematic weapons. The response given was that disabling the weapons would require another patch that would need to undergo separate testing and verification on both PC and PlayStation platforms. Instead, the focus is on informing players of best practices and delivering a comprehensive fix in the upcoming update.

The specific release date of the next Helldivers 2 update has not been disclosed. However, developers have indicated that players can expect the fix to be implemented in the near future, minimizing the waiting time for a resolution to the crashing issues.

As the developers work diligently to address the problems reported by the community, players are advised to exercise caution and abstain from using the electricity-based weapons implicated in the crashes. By heeding this advice, players can help prevent any further in-game disruptions caused by Helldivers 2's crashing troubles.
