Google Nest Aware camera subscription prices are on the rise for international users, following a previous price increase in the United States. The monthly subscription fee for Nest cameras, which enables cloud video storage and continuous recording, will see adjustments in multiple countries starting March 25, 2024.
According to sources, the current Nest Aware Plus subscription in the US, which offers 10 days of 24/7 video recording, has a monthly price of $15. The first-generation Nest Aware subscription, which is increasing in price in Canada, will now cost CA$110 per year for the basic five-day recording tier.
Similar price adjustments are also expected in Japan, with the annual Nest Aware subscription for modern cameras set to increase from 6,300 yen to 8,000 yen. These changes come as part of Google's broader strategy of raising subscription prices across various services since CEO Sundar Pichai initiated an "austerity era" in the second half of 2022.
While these price hikes are not received well by users, it seems that Google is aligning international Nest Aware subscription rates with the increases previously implemented in the US. The global shifts in subscription prices impact users' access to cloud video storage and continuous recording features offered by Google Nest cameras.
