In a tragic turn of events, Stephanie Sparks, a well-known Golf Channel host and former professional golfer, has died at the age of 50. The cause of her death and the location are currently undisclosed. However, it is known that Sparks had been residing in Orlando, Florida.

Hailing from West Virginia, Sparks began her career as a golfer and achieved great success. During her time at Duke University, she earned the title of All-American collegiate golfer. Her notable victories included winning the 1992 North and South Women's Amateur at the Pinehurst Golf Club. Sparks also boosted her career by representing the U.S. on the 1994 Curtis Cup team.

Despite her promising trajectory, Sparks faced a setback when a back injury cut her professional golf career short in 2000. She briefly played with the LPGA before having to retire from the sport altogether.

Sparks's career took a new direction as she transitioned to hosting. She co-hosted the popular Golf Channel reality show, Big Break, for an impressive seven seasons between 2005 and 2013. The show provided aspiring professional golfers a chance to showcase their skills through a series of challenging competitions. Alongside fellow sports commentator Tom Abbott, Sparks contributed to the show's success and offered valuable insights to the participants.

Aside from Big Break, Sparks also hosted two other shows for the Golf Channel, namely Golf with Style! and Playing Lessons with the Pros. Her passion for the sport extended to reporting at various professional golf events, where she provided expert analysis.

Expressing his shock and sorrow, Tom Abbott took to X to pay tribute to his former co-host. "I'm shocked and saddened by the death of Stephanie Sparks," he shared. "Steph was a crucial part of the Big Break success story. My thoughts go out to her family during this difficult time."

Sparks's impact in her later years goes beyond the golfing world. According to her obituary, she spent the last few years of her life advocating for hospice care, demonstrating her dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

The passing of Stephanie Sparks has left a void in the golfing community and among her colleagues at the Golf Channel. She will be remembered for her talent, passion, and contributions to the sport. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends during their time of grief.
