Law enforcement officials from 11 countries have collaborated to disrupt the operations of Lockbit, a notorious cybercrime group. Lockbit, considered one of the most feared cybercriminal organizations, managed to make over $120 million by extorting victims through ransomware attacks. The group sold access to its destructive malware to clients, who then held victims' data hostage until payment was made.

The UK's National Crime Agency has taken control of Lockbit's internal servers and public website, following two arrests in Ukraine and Poland. Although the cybercriminal group has threatened to rebuild, this collaborative operation is expected to significantly impede their ability to carry out attacks in the near future.
