**Giants' Coach Signals Possible Changes During Bye Week**
The New York Giants might soon see a new face at quarterback. While head coach Brian Daboll has not definitively announced a change, his recent comments indicate that starter Daniel Jones could be benched when the Giants return to action against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Nov. 24, at MetLife Stadium.
Daboll shared on Monday that the coaching staff will utilize the bye week to thoroughly review team performance and make necessary adjustments. This time of evaluation comes on the heels of a disheartening 20-17 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers, a game in which Jones underperformed. Daboll hinted that either Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito might get the start in Week 12.
In previous weeks, Daboll firmly stood by Jones as the starting quarterback despite the team's struggles. However, the Giants' dismal 2-8 record, coupled with their rank of 31st in the NFL for scoring at an average of 15.6 points per game, have pushed Daboll to reconsider his stance.
Jones, who was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has been the primary quarterback since taking over from Eli Manning in his rookie year. Yet, Daboll's recent remarks suggest that the Giants are ready to explore other options.
"We're evaluating our team at the bye week," Daboll reiterated, underscoring the significance of this period for potential changes. "We've got a week to go ahead and really dig into this."
As the Giants prepare to meet the Buccaneers, the quarterback situation remains uncertain and will be closely watched by fans and analysts alike.
