In a thrilling basketball tournament overseas, Greece secured their place in the Paris Olympics after a hard-fought victory against Croatia. The win marks Greece's first qualification for basketball in the Olympics since 2008, and it was a moment that proved to be overwhelming for Milwaukee Bucks superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo, known for wearing his heart on his sleeve on the court, couldn't hold back his emotions after the game. Expressing his gratitude and excitement, Antetokounmpo took to social media, posting a photo of himself in an emotional state. He also shared an image of his son holding a sign reading "Et Viola," which translates to "Here we go!" The other side of the sign read "Paris 2024 Bound," symbolizing Greece's qualification for the upcoming Olympics.

In his post, Antetokounmpo said, "I have never cheated the game...See you in Paris," accompanied by praying hands emojis. His heartfelt message conveyed his commitment to the sport and his eagerness to represent his country on the grand Olympic stage.

The FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament, hosted by Greece in Piraeus, welcomed several countries vying for a chance to compete in the Games. Luka Doncic-led Slovenia was a strong contender but fell to Greece in the semifinals, showcasing the dominance of the Greek team. Other participating nations included Egypt, the Dominican Republic, and New Zealand.

In other qualifying matches, Brazil emerged victorious in Latvia, securing their place in the Paris Games. Spain overcame the Bahamas, narrowly missing out on their first-ever Olympic qualification in basketball. However, Spain's win means they have now made seven consecutive Olympics appearances. Puerto Rico's victory over Lithuania marked the final spot in the Olympic qualifiers.

Joining Greece in the basketball competition at the Paris Olympics will be the United States, Germany, Serbia, Canada, South Sudan, Japan, Australia, and host nation France.
