The Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for one of the biggest games of the college football season after enjoying a bye week in Week 4. The No. 2 ranked Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) are set to clash with the No. 4 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (3-0, 0-0 SEC) in a high-stakes game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, televised by ABC and streamed on fuboTV. Both teams are coming off bye weeks and significant victories, with Georgia narrowly defeating Kentucky 13-12 and Alabama dominating Wisconsin 42-10 in their respective Week 3 matchups.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart emphasized the need for rigorous preparation, acknowledging the strength of Alabama under their new head coach, Kalen DeBoer. "We've got to have a great week of preparation. They got a tremendous team," Smart stated earlier in the week, expressing respect for the job DeBoer has done since replacing the legendary Nick Saban. DeBoer, previously the head coach at Washington, has led Alabama to a success-laden start, maintaining the Crimson Tide's winning tradition with a 3-0 record.

The Bulldogs are eager to seize this opportunity to tilt the rivalry in their favor, especially after their last loss to Alabama in the SEC title game which cost them a playoff spot. Georgia's head-to-head record against Alabama under Smart stands at 1-5, with their sole victory coming in the 2022 CFP national title game.

In terms of player availability, Georgia is currently managing a series of injuries. Roderick Robinson, recovering from surgery due to turf toe sustained in late August, is unlikely to take the field anytime soon. Other noticeable absences include London Humphreys, who is out with mono, and freshman receiver Sacovie White, who remains sidelined following an MRI.

Additionally, offensive lineman Tate Ratledge, who underwent ankle surgery last week, is expected to be out for at least a month, and freshman Marcus Harrison's return is still uncertain after a foot injury in Week 2. On the defensive side, there's optimism around Mykel Williams and Warren Brinson, both battling ankle injuries, with potential returns anticipated against Alabama.

As both Georgia and Alabama brace for their upcoming conference showdown, the Bulldogs are focused on recuperation and strategic preparation, aiming to improve their standings and continue their undefeated streak in the SEC.
