**FOX Weather Meteorologist Rescues Woman from Flash Flood in Atlanta**

In a remarkable display of bravery and quick thinking, FOX Weather meteorologist Bob Van Dillen rescued a woman trapped in her car during unprecedented flash floods in Atlanta early this morning. Van Dillen, broadcasting live from the scene, heard the woman's desperate cries for help as the city grappled with heavy rain and its first-ever flash flood emergency.

Despite the live broadcast, Van Dillen acted swiftly. The woman's car was partially submerged and clearly visible in the background, amplifying the urgency of the situation. Van Dillen informed viewers that he had already contacted 911 and assured the woman that help was on the way. "You're good, you're good," he called out to her before addressing the camera, saying, "I'm gonna go see if I can help this lady out a little bit more, you guys," and then left the frame.

Shortly after, viewers witnessed Van Dillen wading through chest-deep floodwaters to reach the distressed woman. Standing at 6'1", he managed to unbuckle her seatbelt and haul her onto his back, navigating the treacherous waters to safety. "As soon as I started going there, I was like, 'Screw it, I'm getting her,'" Van Dillen recalled. Despite initial fears about the current and water temperature, he noted that the water was warmer than expected, allowing him to carry out the rescue successfully.

Once on dry land, Van Dillen gave the shivering woman his shirt and placed her in a car to await further assistance. The fire department and her husband arrived shortly after, with her husband expressing profound gratitude towards Van Dillen, hugging and shaking his hand repeatedly.

The heroic incident was a vivid moment during NPR's live coverage of Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024, highlighting both the dangers of extreme weather and the courage of those who step up in crises.
