In a recent interview with Fox News' Martha MacCallum, former Vice President Mike Pence made it clear that he will not be endorsing Donald Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee for the upcoming 2024 election. Pence expressed pride in the accomplishments of the Trump/Pence administration, emphasizing the conservative record that he believes made America more prosperous and secure.

However, Pence pointed out several areas where he believes Trump falls short of conservative principles. He highlighted concerns regarding Trump's stance on issues such as the national debt, abortion, and relations with China. According to Pence, Trump's agenda is at odds with the conservative agenda they governed on during their four years, leading him to withhold his endorsement.

During the interview, Pence also addressed his role in certifying the 2020 election results for President Joe Biden. Just hours after supporters of Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol, Pence fulfilled his duty as vice president and certified Biden's victory in the electoral college. Trump had publicly criticized Pence leading up to the certification, and some of his supporters even chanted "Hang Mike Pence" during the invasion.

When asked about his voting intentions for the upcoming 2024 election, Pence stated that he will not be voting for Joe Biden but opted to keep his decision private. Pence's refusal to endorse Trump serves as a notable stance from a key figure within the Republican Party, highlighting the divisions that still exist following the tumultuous events of the previous election cycle.

As the 2024 election approaches, the absence of Pence's endorsement may impact the dynamics of the Republican primary race, potentially opening doors for other Republican contenders. It remains to be seen how Pence's decision will influence the political landscape leading up to the election and whether his concerns about Trump's conservatism will resonate with other party members and voters.

In the coming months, all eyes will be on the Republican Party as candidates position themselves for the 2024 election. With Mike Pence distancing himself from Donald Trump, the party faces yet another test of unity and the challenge of formulating a focused and compelling platform that resonates with a diverse voter base.
