Former President Donald Trump is set to make an appearance at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. Despite Trump's announcement on Truth Social, Sneaker Con has not confirmed his attendance, leading to backlash and the disabling of comments on social media.
Pennsylvania, a key battleground state in the upcoming presidential election, could see Trump's return to the spotlight after narrowly losing to President Joe Biden in 2020 with a margin of 50 percent to 48.8 percent. The event, founded in 2009, is expected to draw over 300 vendors selling sneakers and streetwear.
Trump's appearance at Sneaker Con comes on the heels of a judge's ruling ordering him to pay $354 million in his New York civil fraud trial. The decision includes a three-year ban on seeking loans from financial institutions in New York and serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation. An appeal is expected to be filed by Trump in response to the ruling.
