Former President Trump delivered a fiery speech in Michigan on Saturday, speaking out against Judge Arthur Engoron, Fani Willis, and others, a day after Engoron ruled that Trump owes more than $350 million in a civil fraud case, which Trump deemed a "total sham." The ruling added to his mounting legal fees, with Trump estimated to owe over $440 million in total, including more than $80 million in E. Jean Carroll's defamation case. Trump's net worth of approximately $2.6 billion, with an estimated $640 million in cash and personal assets, is now in the spotlight due to these legal battles.
In a recent MSNBC interview, Carroll stated that she would sue Trump if he defamed her again, with her attorney, Roberta Kaplan, expressing that "all options were on the table" to combat future defamatory statements. Trump is due to face trial on criminal charges next month, with jury selection scheduled to begin on March 25. The former president was indicted on 34 criminal counts for falsification of business records in August and has pleaded not guilty to these charges.
Amidst his legal challenges, Trump also made a surprising career move by launching a $399 high-top sneaker line at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia. Trump revealed that he had been planning this venture for 12 years. The former president had previously been ordered to pay Carroll $5 million for sexual abuse and defamation last May after a jury found him guilty on those counts.
Saturday's speech marked Trump's first public acknowledgment of his legal troubles since Engoron's ruling and shed light on both his ongoing legal battles and his new business venture in the world of fashion.
