Former Denver Broncos star, Terrell Davis, is contemplating legal action against United Airlines after an alleged incident of mistreatment during a flight. Lawyers representing Davis claim that the airline's response so far has been insufficient, labeling the incident as an "injustice." The incident occurred on a United commercial flight from Denver to California over the weekend.
According to Davis, a flight attendant ignored a beverage request made by his son. When Davis tapped the attendant's arm to get their attention, the flight attendant loudly exclaimed, "Don't hit me." At the end of the flight, the captain requested all passengers to remain seated. Subsequently, a law enforcement team, led by FBI agents, boarded the plane and handcuffed Davis in front of his family, escorting him off the aircraft.
The FBI questioned Davis and later released him, finding no evidence of wrongdoing. On Monday, United Airlines issued an apologetic statement, confirming that the employee involved had been taken out of rotation temporarily while they conduct an internal review of the incident.
However, the law firm representing Davis, Stinar Gould Grieco & Hensley, expressed dissatisfaction with United Airlines' response. They addressed a letter to the airline, underscoring that a simple apology and the temporary removal of the flight attendant from duty did not rectify the situation. The lawyers described the incident as "horrific, traumatic, embarrassing, and humiliating" not only for Davis but also for his family.
In their letter, the law firm suggested their consideration of litigation against United Airlines, not only for Davis' case but also for other instances of alleged mistreatment characterized by a lack of training and respect for customers. They emphasized their intention to expose any wrongdoings under United Airlines' leadership that emerged from similar circumstances.
United Airlines has yet to respond publicly to the law firm's letter regarding potential legal action. However, the airline has continued to face scrutiny over its handling of customer experiences in recent years, prompting calls for improved training and better customer service.
As the situation unfolds, Davis and his legal team are determined to seek justice and hold United Airlines accountable for the alleged mistreatment. The possibility of litigation looms as they aim to shed light on any systemic issues that may exist within the company's operations.
