Among them, Jameis Winston stands out, positioned significantly higher in personal rankings compared to the FantasyPros Expert Consensus Ranking (ECR).
Jameis Winston, currently ranked QB18 by the consensus, is placed much higher in personal assessments at QB9. In his first start for the Browns, Winston showcased his trademark aggressive passing style, launching 41 attempts against the Ravens. His impressive average depth of target was 10 yards, according to Jacob Gibbs of CBS. Notably, Winston achieved 275 catchable air yards in that game, surpassing Brock Purdy's season-high of 213. With only two other quarterbacks—Jordan Love and Dak Prescott—exceeding 200 catchable air yards in a game this season, Winston’s performance is notable, despite a potentially tough matchup with the Chargers.
Alexander Mattison has been a workhorse, averaging 16.5 carries, 3.8 catches, and 20.3 touches over his last four games. Despite this significant involvement, he ranks only as RB32 in fantasy points per game during that stretch. A slight improvement could have positioned him at RB24. While leading the Raiders' backfield might not carry the same weight as with other teams, Mattison is a viable high-end RB3 option, particularly against the Bengals' 25th-ranked run defense by DVOA.
Calvin Ridley, despite some inconsistencies, is being backed as a fantasy starter this week. Last week, Titans QB Mason Rudolph targeted Ridley 15 times, resulting in 10 catches for 143 yards. With the Titans trading away DeAndre Hopkins, there’s hope that Rudolph will continue to rely heavily on Ridley. Given the lack of other strong options like Tyler Boyd or Chig Okonkwo, Ridley could finally meet the high expectations set for him by fantasy managers.
Jake Ferguson, who was prolific last season with five touchdowns and leading all tight ends in red-zone targets, has yet to score this season and is currently TE21 in fantasy scoring. Despite this, Ferguson remains second in both targets and receptions for the Cowboys, with averages of 7.0 targets and 5.2 catches per game. Focusing on his consistent usage rather than his current results, Ferguson is rated TE8 against a Falcons defense that has allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to tight ends.
