In a bid to secure their long-term plans, the Football Association (FA) has expressed its desire for Gareth Southgate to continue as the manager of the England national team. This comes amidst speculation that Southgate's future may hinge on the outcome of the Euro 2024 final against Spain this Sunday.

According to reports from the Mail, the FA remains committed to Southgate, even if England face defeat in the final. Recognizing his contributions and the progress made by the team under his leadership, they are eager to retain him as a key figure for the national side.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, the United States is in search of a new head coach. The Independent reports that former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has emerged as their top candidate to replace Gregg Berhalter. However, Klopp, currently taking a break from management, is reportedly not interested in the USA role, as mentioned in The Athletic.

Notably, Klopp's home country, Germany, is also eyeing his services, as per Team Talk. The German Football Association sees Klopp as a potential successor to Joachim Low, who is set to step down following the conclusion of the Euros this summer.

In club football news, Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt has expressed his keenness to join Manchester United. According to Sky Sports, the 24-year-old Netherlands international wants to make the move to Old Trafford as soon as possible. However, Bayern Munich is reportedly demanding a hefty fee of 50 million euros (£42.1 million) for his services.

Additionally, in transfer talks, Al-Ittihad is closing in on signing Aston Villa's France winger Moussa Diaby, as reported by Yahoo. The Saudi Arabian club is also in negotiations with Manchester United's Brazil midfielder Casemiro, according to L'Equipe.

Elsewhere, Paris St-Germain has entered into the race for 19-year-old Portugal international midfielder Joao Neves, who has attracted interest from Manchester United. While PSG has offered €70 million, Benfica is holding out for a fee closer to the player's €120 million release clause, as revealed by A Bola.

In other transfer developments, Arsenal has made an opening bid for Ajax's 18-year-old English goalkeeper Tommy Setford, per Fabrizio Romano. Benfica has rejected offers from both PSG and Manchester United for their highly-rated 19-year-old Portugal midfielder Joao Neves, as announced by A Bola.

AC Milan has expressed their interest in RB Salzburg's Serbia defender Strahinja Pavlovic, who is also a target for Newcastle, according to Calciomercato. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace is determined not to sell their 26-year-old England winger Eberechi Eze to Tottenham or Manchester United, as revealed by Football Insider.

Lastly, West Ham has managed to ward off interest from Manchester City and retain 16-year-old English midfielder Chinaza Nwosu at their academy, as reported by Football Insider. Chelsea has decided to end their pursuit of Atletico Madrid's Spanish striker Samu Omorodion, brings an end to the speculation surrounding the 20-year-old, as stated by Marca.

As the Euro 2024 final looms, Gareth Southgate feels that reaching this stage with England has become a "normal" expectation. With the FA backing him and various managerial opportunities on the horizon, it remains to be seen where Southgate's future lies following the tournament.
