### Estee Lauder Set to Name Stéphane de La Faverie as New CEO
Estee Lauder is poised to appoint Stéphane de La Faverie as its new CEO, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal. This decision follows an announcement in August stating that current CEO Fabrizio Freda plans to retire next year and will remain an advisor through fiscal year 2026.
De La Faverie, currently serving as executive group president, oversees major brands like Estée Lauder, Jo Malone London, Le Labo, and Kilian Paris. Having joined Estee Lauder in 2013, he had previously held a senior executive position at L'Oreal.
Jane Lauder, once considered a candidate for the CEO role, has informed company staff via a memo that she will step down from her executive duties at the end of the year, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
The potential leadership change comes during a challenging period for Estee Lauder, as the global beauty market faces reduced demand, particularly in China. Recently, French cosmetics competitor L'Oreal reported weaker-than-expected quarterly sales, attributing the shortfall to low consumer confidence in China.
Estee Lauder is anticipated to officially announce the CEO selection this week, and the company is scheduled to release its quarterly financial results on Thursday. The company has not yet responded to requests for comment from Reuters.
