ESPN and The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) have revealed the thrilling schedule for the 2024-25 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season. Fans can look forward to a total of 100 exclusive games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN+, ABC, and Hulu. Additionally, ESPN and TWDC will bring hockey enthusiasts the NHL Opening Night tripleheader, 4 Nations Face-Off, the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series, and an action-packed 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs starting in mid-April.

The hockey extravaganza kicks off on Tuesday, October 8, with a spectacular opening night tripleheader on ESPN and ESPN+. The first game of the season begins at 4:30 p.m. ET, featuring the St. Louis Blues facing off against the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. This game marks the first full season for head coach Drew Bannister and showcases newly-signed 2024 Stanley Cup Champion Brandon Montour and forward Matty Beniers, who recently signed a seven-year extension with the team.

At 7 p.m. ET, the defending 2024 Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers, led by Selke Trophy winner Aleksander Barkov, will host the Boston Bruins in a highly-anticipated rematch of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoff Eastern Conference Second Round. Prior to the game, the Panthers will raise their championship banner at Amerant Bank Arena in a memorable Stanley Cup banner ceremony.

The excitement continues at 10 p.m. ET when the Utah Hockey Club makes their franchise debut in Salt Lake City. Fans can mark their calendars for October 22, as the highly successful NHL Frozen Frenzy makes a comeback. This special night of hockey will feature all 32 teams in action, including an exclusive tripleheader on ESPN and ESPN+. Additional games will be available on NHL Power Play on ESPN+, providing fans with continuous action throughout the night. Additionally, ESPN2 will offer a whip-around show with live look-ins on every game, showcasing the best plays, hits, and goals of the night.

In lieu of the NHL All-Star weekend, the NHL 4 Nations Face-Off will take place from February 12 to 20, featuring teams from the United States, Canada, Finland, and Sweden. This round-robin tournament, played in Montreal and Boston, will be a thrilling best-on-best competition and the first of its kind since the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto. ESPN and ABC will provide coverage for three games in Montreal and the championship game in Boston, starting on February 13.

The 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is set to captivate fans on March 1. The outdoor matchup will take place at Ohio Stadium, home of the Ohio State University football team in Columbus, Ohio. The Detroit Red Wings from Michigan will face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets from Ohio in a hockey-style rendition of the traditional Ohio State-Michigan college football rivalry. Viewers can catch this exciting game at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Fans can expect over 1,050 out-of-market games accessible through NHL Power Play on ESPN+ and Hulu, allowing them to enjoy games from all teams throughout the season. With the choice of two separate live streams providing either home or away team commentary, viewers can personalize their viewing experience. Additionally, replays of every NHL regular season and playoff game on ABC, ESPN, NHL Network, and TNT will be available on NHL Power Play on ESPN+ for on-demand viewing.

As the 2024-25 season commences, all eyes will be on Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, who enters the season just 42 goals away from breaking Wayne Gretzky's all-time leading goal scorer record of 894.
