The clerk's office in Travis County, Texas—where Musk initiated the legal proceedings—confirmed that a judge issued a final order in August, marking the case status as "closed." However, further details were not disclosed by the office.

The high-profile former couple had been engaged in a legal battle over the custody of their three children: 4-year-old X Æ A-12, 2-year-old Exa, and 2-year-old Tau. Musk had filed the custody lawsuit against Grimes in September 2023, leading to Grimes filing a countersuit in a San Francisco court the same month. Due to the restricted status of the case, the San Francisco Superior Court representative could not provide any information regarding the countersuit.
