**Zach Hyman to Undergo Surgery, Expected to Miss Rest of Playoffs**

Edmonton Oilers winger Zach Hyman is facing surgery and will likely be absent for the remainder of the playoffs, as confirmed by head coach Kris Knoblauch on Wednesday morning. The team has not revealed the specifics of Hyman's upper-body injury or the surgery he will undergo.

Hyman sustained the injury during the first period of Game 4 in the Western Conference final against the Dallas Stars, after a collision with Dallas player Mason Marchment. The Oilers, currently leading the series 3-1, are scheduled to play Game 5 on Thursday night in Dallas.

"It's a big hole to fill," said Oilers winger Corey Perry. "He brings a lot to our team, a lot to our lineup. He's a workhorse."

This season has seen Hyman follow up a stellar 54-goal regular season by scoring 16 times in the postseason, the most in the NHL, as the Oilers reached Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. In this year's playoffs, he has tallied five goals and 11 points over 15 games and was close to setting an NHL record for hits in a single postseason.

Hyman's absence will undoubtedly be felt by the Oilers, who now face the challenge of compensating for the loss of one of their key players as they continue their pursuit of the Stanley Cup.
