**Dvalishvili Triumphs Once More in UFC 316, Harrison Secures Bantamweight Title**

Merab Dvalishvili demonstrated his dominance in the main event of UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey, effortlessly defeating Sean O'Malley with a third-round modified choke to retain the bantamweight championship. The impressive victory came before a live audience that included United States President Donald Trump. Dvalishvili's exceptional wrestling base wore down O'Malley, underscoring his position as one of the top bantamweights in the sport’s history.

Dvalishvili's victory at 4:42 of the third round marked his 13th consecutive win. Following the bout, he expressed interest in defending his title next against Cory Sandhagen, who has won four of his last five fights. "You're the man, let's go," Dvalishvili said, issuing a challenge to Sandhagen.

Sean O'Malley, who previously lost to Dvalishvili by unanimous decision last September and surrendered his title, took the defeat in stride, assuring fans of his return. "100 percent, thank you guys for coming out," O'Malley stated, acknowledging the setback but remaining optimistic about his future.

In the co-main event, the women's bantamweight title changed hands as Kayla Harrison submitted Julianna Pena with a second-round kimura. Harrison's dominant performance followed a grueling weight cut that almost led her to quit. However, she persevered and secured the title, later calling out retired former two-division champion Amanda Nunes. As hints of Nunes' comeback grow stronger, a face-off between Harrison and Nunes excitedly hinted at a potential bout later this year.

The event also saw Kevin Holland shine on the main card, winning against Vicente Luque with a second-round D'Arce choke. Holland has now won three of his last five fights, solidifying his status as a serious welterweight contender.

Middleweight Joe Pyfer returned to the Octagon with a triumphant unanimous decision win over Kelvin Gastelum. With scores of 29-28, 29-27, and 30-27, Pyfer marked his second consecutive victory, while Gastelum continues to struggle, currently in the midst of a slump.

UFC 316 was a night of remarkable fights and significant victories, setting the stage for intriguing future matchups in the world of mixed martial arts.
