### Djokovic's Historic Quest Continues with Win Over Zverev

Novak Djokovic's pursuit of becoming the oldest Grand Slam men's champion took a significant step forward as he overcame third seed Alexander Zverev to secure a spot in the French Open semi-finals. The 38-year-old Serb triumphed 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, setting up a tantalizing clash with world number one Jannik Sinner.

Djokovic, aiming for a record 25th Grand Slam title, initially stumbled by losing the first set to Zverev, who had been the 2024 runner-up. However, Djokovic regained his footing and didn’t lose his serve again, even surviving a marathon 41-shot exchange in the fourth set.

"My way of playing is based on running, but at my age it's not so easy to run so much," said Djokovic, who is the second oldest man to reach the French Open semi-finals.

Sinner, who will face Djokovic next, advanced with an emphatic straight-set victory over Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik on Thursday. The Italian prodigy has yet to drop a set at Roland Garros this year, eliminating Bublik 6-1, 7-5, 6-0.

While Djokovic continues to defy age and odds, his season has been marked by ups and downs. This run in Paris is a testament to his enduring hunger for Grand Slam success, even as questions swirl about his stamina and motivation. In Melbourne, despite sustaining a hamstring tear, he managed to reach the semi-finals, showcasing his unyielding spirit against younger opponents.

"I think the win against Alcaraz and against Zverev tonight proves to myself and others that I can still play at the highest level," Djokovic said.

In the upcoming semi-final, Djokovic or Sinner will face either defending champion Carlos Alcaraz or Italian eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti, both of whom are also set to play on Friday.

The showdown with Zverev highlighted Djokovic's ability to adapt and outmaneuver his younger rival. Zverev, often criticized for his passive play, was unable to match Djokovic's tactical brilliance and resilience. The Serb used his signature drop shots and strategic plays to control the game, eventually sealing the match with a deft drop shot after three hours and 17 minutes.

Djokovic’s relentless pursuit of greatness continues to inspire, and his latest victory has only added another memorable chapter to his illustrious career.
