In response to a large disturbance and multiple altercations at The Pike Outlets in Long Beach, the Long Beach Police Department collaborated with store owners to close shops early on Saturday. Approximately 200 people had gathered at the shopping center after a post on social media went viral, indicating that two females, one adult and one juvenile, were planning to engage in a fight.

The police department received information about the planned altercation and had stationed officers near the property. Video footage captured by stringer service OC Hawk showed two young girls involved in a fistfight, with a sizable group of teenagers forming a circle around them. Many onlookers were seen recording the confrontation on their phones. Eventually, officers intervened and dispersed the crowd, leading to the arrest of the two fighting individuals.

To ensure a safe environment, a few police officers remained on-site to patrol the area. Police also brought in a bus to The Pike Outlets in case a large number of juveniles needed to be detained. As a precautionary measure, the owners of The Pike Outlets and store owners collectively decided to close their shops early. Consequently, the shopping center was closed at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday, and all guests were instructed to leave. Long Beach police made an announcement warning that anyone who failed to comply would face arrest for trespassing.

Shortly after the initial fight between the two females, reports emerged of a shooting involving a juvenile male. Police discovered the injured boy at The Promenade nearby, sustaining a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was swiftly transported to a local hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition. It remains unclear if the shooting involved any spectators from the earlier female fight, and no information regarding potential suspects has been released by the police.

The recent wave of violence in Long Beach has caused concern among residents. The community recently witnessed a shooting incident in a crowded area, fortunately without any injuries. Additionally, just eight days before the stabbing incident, a man was fatally stabbed at a Dave's Hot Chicken restaurant in the Belmont Shore neighborhood, allegedly while defending a group of people during an argument. The suspect in that case was apprehended at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) several days later. As a result, the restaurant has started closing earlier each night.

Following similar incidents in the Del Amo Mall Fashion Center in Torrance, restrictions have been imposed, requiring anyone under 18 to be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or older after 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The measures were implemented due to a series of brawls and smash-and-grab robberies involving juveniles.

As of now, the identities of the two women arrested in the fight at The Pike Outlets have not been disclosed. The motive behind the altercation remains unclear. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter and working towards ensuring the safety and security of the community.
