### Yankees Bar Fans After Incident with Mookie Betts in Game 4
Two New York Yankees fans, Austin Capobianco and John Peter, have been banned from attending Game 5 of the World Series after an incident involving Los Angeles Dodgers' star Mookie Betts in Game 4. The fans interfered with Betts’ attempt to catch a fly ball in foul territory during the first inning, leading to their ejection from the game.
Despite being season-ticket holders, Capobianco and Peter were initially informed they could attend Game 5. However, Major League Baseball intervened and requested that the Yankees enforce a ban. Capobianco revealed that he was warned by the Yankees that attempting to attend the game would result in their arrest. It remains unclear whether the ban will extend beyond Game 5.
The Yankees issued a statement condemning the actions of the fans, describing the incident as "egregious and unacceptable physical contact" with Betts. The organization emphasized the importance of safety and security for players, fans, and stadium staff, noting that such behavior compromises the foundational elements of events held at Yankee Stadium.
The incident in question occurred when Capobianco and Peter tried to pull the ball out of Betts' glove after he made a catch on Gleyber Torres' fly ball. Capobianco was seen tugging on Betts' glove, while Peter grabbed the player's right wrist. Torres was subsequently ruled out due to fan interference.
Despite the disruption, Betts downplayed the incident in post-game comments following the Dodgers' 11-4 loss. He stated that the interference was irrelevant to the outcome of the game and that his primary focus was on preparing for the next match.
With the Dodgers leading the series 3-1, they have another opportunity to clinch the World Series title in Game 5. Even if the Yankees manage a win, this game will mark the final one scheduled at Yankee Stadium for the series, with potential Games 6 and 7 set to be played in Los Angeles.
