**Powerful Storm Ravages Pacific Northwest and Northern California: Two Dead, Hundreds of Thousands Without Power**
A fierce and rainy storm wreaked havoc in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California this week, leading to the loss of at least two lives and leaving hundreds of thousands without electricity.
Starting on Tuesday, the storm, driven by the season's first significant atmospheric river from the Pacific Ocean, caused extensive damage across the region. In Washington, powerful winds resulted in power outages for half a million customers, with the Seattle area experiencing some of the most severe effects, including the two reported fatalities.
As the storm progressed into Northern California, it caused major disruptions, affecting hundreds of flights, overflowing creeks, and soaking San Francisco. Additionally, it delivered heavy snowfall to various areas of the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges.
Despite the storm losing strength as it moves southward, the aftermath is still being felt. By Saturday morning, over 90,000 customers in Washington and approximately 17,000 in California remained without power. The region north of San Francisco, including Napa Valley, is expected to continue experiencing flooding through Saturday.
